Guests attending the gala were welcomed into a beautifully decorated venue where music, fellowship, and philanthropy created an atmosphere of warmth and celebration. The event reflected the Association’s longstanding mission of helping families in need, supporting healthcare initiatives, and strengthening community bonds through acts of compassion and generosity.
One of the evening’s highlights was the honoring of two remarkable women, Eleni Sarigiannis and Margaret “Rita” Manolis, mother of Elias Manolis. Both women were recognized for their strength, resilience, and unwavering devotion to their families and the wider community. Their stories touched many attendees and served as powerful reminders of perseverance, dignity, and compassion during difficult times.

A particularly emotional moment came as guests paid tribute to Elias Manolis, the young Greek-American who recently underwent a kidney transplant in New York this past March. His courageous journey deeply resonated with those in attendance and underscored the Association’s commitment to supporting individuals and families facing serious medical challenges. The tribute highlighted the importance of solidarity within the Greek-American community and demonstrated how collective support can bring hope to families during difficult periods.
The evening’s program was hosted by master of ceremonies Dimitris Filippidis, whose engaging and energetic presence helped guide the celebration seamlessly from heartfelt speeches to lively entertainment. His professionalism and warmth added to the success of the event, ensuring guests remained engaged throughout the night.
Attendees enjoyed a full gala experience that included live music by Orchestra “Pelagos,” whose performance kept the dance floor filled throughout the evening. Guests also enjoyed raffles, social gatherings, fine dining, wine, desserts, and a menu blending traditional Greek flavors with contemporary cuisine. The celebration successfully combined entertainment with philanthropy, creating a memorable evening for everyone present.
At the center of the Annual Dinner Dance was the Association’s continued dedication to charitable giving. Over the years, the Greek American Mothers Association of New York has contributed significant financial support to organizations assisting families, healthcare programs, and specialized causes.
This year, the organization announced several impactful donations:
- Ronald McDonald House received a total contribution of $105,000 over time, including $9,000 donated this year alone.
- Real Men Wear Pink received $6,000 this year in support of breast cancer awareness and research.
- Malan Syndrome Association has received $20,000 overall, including a $3,000 donation this year to assist individuals and families affected by the rare condition.
- St. Mary’s of Bayside was newly supported with a $5,000 contribution, marking the beginning of what organizers hope will become a lasting partnership.
The Association’s charitable efforts continue to make a meaningful difference by supporting healthcare initiatives, family assistance programs, and organizations dedicated to improving lives across the community. The evening also reinforced the role Greek-American organizations continue to play in preserving a tradition of philanthropy deeply rooted in Hellenic values.
