The curtain has officially fallen on the greatest icon of French cinema. In an atmosphere charged with emotion under the radiant sun of Saint-Tropez, family, friends, and international figures gathered today to bid a final farewell to Brigitte Bardot.

The woman who "created" the myth of femininity and dedicated her life to the protection of animals was buried in the "Mucel Bardot" family tomb, overlooking the endless blue of the Mediterranean.

Bardot, who passed away on December 28, 2025, at the age of 91, had requested that her final resting place be simple, far from the spotlight that so exhausted her in her youth.
"Stay With Me Until I Come": The Heartbreaking Message from Her Sister
The ceremony at the Notre-Dame de l'Assomption church was filled with symbolism. The star's wicker coffin, a choice reflecting her ecological consciousness and her aversion to luxury, entered the temple to the iconic voice of Maria Callas.
The moment that broke those present was the reading of messages from her family who could not attend. Her 87-year-old sister, Mijanou, who lives permanently in Los Angeles, sent a heartbreaking goodbye: "Please stay with me until I come." Equally moving was her niece, Camille, who called her aunt "mamina," describing her as the rock and lighthouse of her life.
Notable Presences: From Le Pen to Macron

Bardot’s political and social impact was present until the very end. Marine Le Pen, with whom the actress maintained close ties in recent years, attended the funeral. On the other hand, President Emmanuel Macron, whom Bardot had publicly criticized harshly, chose to send a grand bouquet of flowers, honoring her as a national treasure of France.
Among the crowd were her son, Nicolas-Jacques Charrier, legendary singer Mireille Mathieu, and activist Paul Watson, reminding everyone that Brigitte was not just an actress, but a militant voice for creatures who have no voice.
Returning to Her Roots: The Family Tomb

The procession accompanied "B.B." to the seaside cemetery of Saint-Tropez. She now rests beside her beloved grandfather, Léon Mucel, the man who believed in and defended her when she took her first steps in cinema against her family's wishes. Beside him lie her parents and her grandmother.
Two large portraits were placed at the site. In one, the iconic smile that enchanted the planet. In the other, a photograph of her holding a seal, with the caption "Thank you, Brigitte"—a small tribute from the world of ecology.
The inscription on the stone is now final:
Brigitte Bardot: September 28, 1934 – December 28, 2025.
