At a special reception prior to the screening, filmgoers had the opportunity to meet visiting
filmmakers and actors from Greece, who will present their movies throughout the Expo.
MURPHY’S LAW, a comedy, screened for the first time in the US. Starring Katia Goulioni and
Andreas Konstantinou, two of Greece’s most celebrated actors today, the film follows Mary
Alice (Goulioni), a failed and deeply conflicted actress longing for major roles. After a serious
accident on her 40th birthday, she’s thrust her into an alternate reality where she must play the
parts that could have been hers had she made different choices in life. The producers refer to it
as a “psychoanalytic screwball comedy.”

The film also stars Elizabeth Bitouni, Thanos Tokakis, Constantine Makroulakis, Vangelio
Andreadaki, Daphne Alexander, and Nikos Kouros.

Immediately following, HFS president Maria C. Miles welcomed the director and actors on stage
for an audience Q&A. Goulioni and Konstantinou remarked about working together for the
third time, then they, along with Frantzis, spoke about the production of the film before taking
questions from the audience.
