On Thursday, April 4, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, honored as every year the national day of Greek Independence Day with the established event at the White House, a particularly honorable event as the Greek-American and Irish communities are the only national groups in the US that celebrate their national day every year at the White House.

As expected, the honorary event at the White House for Greek Independence Day brought together for yet another year all prominent members of the Greek-American community as well as political and religious leaders of the United States.

The event opened with a speech by US President Joe Biden, who welcomed Greeks and Greek-Americans "home", as he said, and reminded with emotion that when he was 29 years old, Greek Americans with their vote and decisive support helped him be elected Senator in Delaware, thus paving the way for him to become a planetary leader. "And that's one of the reasons I'm here today in your community," said Joe Biden, aka Bidenopoulos, as he recalled his nickname.
"Welcome to the White House, everyone. This is your home, and you are one of the reasons why I say I am here and why this is your home here. Today, we celebrate 203 years of Greek independence and celebrate the bonds of friendship between Greece and the United States that extend even further President."
Then, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America spoke and began his speech by saying that "Once again, you honor the Greek-American people of America in the most extraordinary way, with the annual celebration of Greek Independence Day here at the White House. As always, we are honored by the prestige of this celebration, and on behalf of all, I thank you for continuing this wonderful tradition that recognizes the Greek roots of democracy."

This honorary event was attended by important Greek, Greek-American and philhellene Americans from the cultural and business world, with the presence of the US Ambassador to Greece George Tsounis, the sister of US President Valerie Biden, the chairman of the ANT1 Group Theodore Kyriakou as well as the Greek shipowner Nikolaos Tsakos accompanied by his beautiful twin daughters Irene and Elizabeth.
After all, the two young daughters of the greatly successful Greek shipowner – whose Greek shipping company this year celebrated 30 years listed on the New York Stock Exchange and made record profits with a 24% profit increase – are studying in the US and more specifically at Columbia University, one of the best universities in New York. The two beautiful young women once again amazed everyone. Dressed elegantly and exactly as the occasion demanded, the stunning twin girls Irene and Elizabeth Tsakos had also something special on them, they both wore a beautiful silk scarf with the Greek flag, probably created by their famous Greek designer mom, Celia Kritharioti.
