Jennifer Aniston has finally revealed the recipe for her go-to salad - while opening up about the health and fitness routine she relies on to stay in such enviable shape at age 54. Almost one year to the day after the former Friends star revealed the viral recipe for a salad that she was said to have made every day on the set of the show was fake, she has now shared the actual ingredients she puts in her 'really hearty' mix. Aniston ate the same salad every day for 10 years while filming Friends. The alleged recipe went viral on TikTok last year, but she debunked the rumors, saying it was not the one she ate.
While speaking to the Today show about her collaboration with the fitness company Pvolve, she detailed her favorite salad order, which starts with butter lettuce as a base.
'I’m not a romaine fan," Aniston explained. 'I love to have some mushrooms. I love sprouts. I love a little tomato. Avocado, Kalamata olives, always some cheese - never gonna give up my cheese. I’ll do sliced parmesan, pecorino … feta … or all of them!'
The actress tops off her salad with sliced almonds or sunflower seeds for crunch and either a chopped or poached egg for protein.
As for the dressing, it depends on the day. She typically opts for oil and vinegar or a vinaigrette, but if it's the weekend, she might have ranch instead.
Aniston's love of salads was first documented in her former Friends co-star Courteney Cox's interview with the Los Angeles Times in 2010.
Cox explained that they ate the same Cobb salad 'doctored up' by Aniston every day for 10 years while starring on the hit NBC show.
When the interview resurfaced last summer, the mystery surrounding the salad's ingredients took the internet by storm.
Aniston's salad went viral on TikTok after a food blogger named Hannah claimed to have the recipe for the version she ate on the set of Friends. However, the actress later debunked the rumors.
'That's not true, not my salad. I don't know where that has come from. It looks good, but it is not mine,' she told Capital FM presenter Sian Welby earlier this year.
'The one I ate on the set of Friends was like iceberg lettuce, it was a Cobb salad. I'm trying to remember [what was in it], pecorino, turkey bacon, chicken, and garbanzo beans.'
Not too dissimilar, Hannah's included red onion, cucumber, pistachios, fresh parsley, fresh mint, and a can of chickpeas.
Aniston explained in her latest interview with Today that she has been conscious about her health from an early age.
She focuses on clean eating, drinking water, prioritizing sleep, meditating, and working out to ensure she feels her best.
