The kitten from Spetses that was saved from drowning found protection and love in the arms of the young American woman who saved it and will now travel with her to its new homeland.
The little kitten was drowning in the port of Spetses but no one did something to save it.
The young American tourist asked why no one was acting, and when she was told that the rescue was "not safe" for them because of a speedboat, she dived into the water, swam to the kitten and took it in her arms, bringing it safely ashore.
The video of the rescue went viral on the internet.
The video posted on SpetsesVoice shows the young girl standing on the edge of the pier, spotting the kitten and asking the coast guard if it is safe to dive. The man of the coast guard replies that it is not safe, with the tourist replying "But it will die" and dived into the water, swam up to the kitten and brought it ashore, saving its life.
The young woman from America adopted the lucky little kitten, baptized it "Spetsii" and is taking it with her to the U.S.
