A 3700-years-old table from Akrotiri proves that the culture of Thira was way ahead of its time.

The Minoan explosion that upset the Aegean and silenced the great culture of Thira, covered the city of Cape "condemning" it to stay eternally alive.

In Akrotiri there is a unique picture of the everyday life, which is difficult to win in other prehistoric centers. The lack of oxygen maintained elements of worn objects, which provided us a complete picture: Beds, tables, baskets and other objects showing a group of people, who were constantly evolving.

A table that was found in one of the rich houses of the settlement is a typical example of that.

Even though the worn wood was destroyed, the footprint was maintained and filled with plaster, which created a perfect camplaster and a coffee table, that is impossible to believe it was created almost 4000 years ago.
