Seven new confirmed cases of coronavirus announced; Cyprus

Seven new confirmed cases of coronavirus were announced on Thursday from a total of 2.454 tests.

Dr. Leontios Kostrikis, member of the Scientific Committee on the pandemic told a press conference that according to the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit of the Ministry of Health, four cases were detected from contact tracing tests, one from the 470 tests on people who were recently repatriated and one more case from 780 tests carried out at private laboratories. One more positive tests was detected among 96 tests performed on State Health Services Organisation employees.

No new cases were detected from 306 tests as part of the test programme for 20 thousand employees, 237 tests performed by the laboratories of the island’s general hospitals or the 370 tests for the 2000 workers in the retail industry and nursing homes.
