We remind you that a few days ago there was a tragic incident on another beautiful Greek island, Symi, where the famous BBC presenter, Michael Mosley, was found dead as, apparently, he felt unwell, probably from the heat, stumbled and fell into the sea while returning to his company.

This time, a 59-year-old retired American police officer is missing, whose whereabouts were lost yesterday, Tuesday morning, June 11, in Amorgos.

According to the complaint of his friend, who informed the authorities, the 59-year-old started hiking from Aegiali through a marked path with final destination Katapola.

This path, according to the signs that exist, is crossed in about four hours.

The 59-year-old began his march minutes after 7am on Tuesday. The 59-year-old's friend tried to contact his friend, when he did not return, at 3 p.m. and called his missing friend on both phone numbers, without getting an answer and contacted the police directly.

The 59-year-old's last communication was reportedly with his sister at 7:20 a.m. on Tuesday morning as he began the hike and sent her a message with a photo of the sign that had the information of the trail he would follow.

In the investigations that have started since yesterday, the police officers of the local police station will be assisted today, Wednesday, June 12, by their colleagues from AT Naxos headed by an officer.

At the same time, mobile phone companies have been asked to trace the signal of the two mobile phones of the 59-year-old American pensioner who has been missing since yesterday.
