The meeting between Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, scheduled for today as part of the 80th UN General Assembly, has been postponed at the request of the Turkish side. The official reason given by the Turkish side for the last-minute postponement is the conference of Arab countries with the US, requested by US President Trump, which Turkey must attend.

With a last-minute change, the crucial one-on-one meeting between the Greek Prime Minister and the Turkish President has been postponed and a new date is now being sought in the coming days in New York, within the framework of the 80th UN General Assembly.
The meeting was postponed due to the Turkish President's participation in a meeting of Arab and Muslim leaders organized today, Tuesday, in New York by US President Donald Trump.
According to Turkish government sources, the US president announced the conference of Arab countries, which Turkey must attend.
The conference is scheduled to take place at the same time as the meeting between Mr. Mitsotakis and Mr. Erdogan, so the Turkish side notified the Greek side to postpone the meeting and a new time is being sought in the coming days in New York, based on the schedules of both leaders.
In Turkey, the news of the postponement of the meeting between the two leaders is being reported in the Turkish media from Greek sources without further details.
According to sources, the agenda of the two leaders would include Greece's position on the SAFE program, the Cyprus-Crete electric power interconnection, and Libya.
