The strong bad weather that has been hitting Greece in the last few hours is in full force, bringing with it the first snow for this year.
From the early hours of Thursday, the first snow fell in the northern mountains, just as several meteorologists had pointed out in the previous days.
Both Olympus and Kaimaktsalan have been "dressed" in white in the last few hours, with photos and videos that are coming to light, capturing the impressive landscape.
According to information from meteoclub, it snowed on Mount Olympus, at an altitude of more than 2,500 meters. The snowfall, however, was light, but at the top of the mountain there was snowfall.
Heavy rain prevails today at noon on Thursday, October 2 in Attica and most of the country, with the severe weather phenomena expected to subside from late afternoon. At the same time, meteo warns of strong phenomena today in Eastern Sterea, Evia, the Sporades, as well as in parts of central and eastern Macedonia.
A few snowfalls will occur in the mountains of Western Macedonia towards the end of the twenty-four hours and beyond.
Tomorrow, Friday 03/10, rains and thunderstorms, locally strong, are initially expected in Central and Eastern Macedonia, Thrace, the Aegean and Crete, while local rains and possibly storms will also occur in the Ionian Sea and the western mainland. From the morning, the phenomena in Central and Eastern Macedonia, Thrace and the Aegean will gradually weaken. From noon, local rains and storms will occur in a large part of the mainland and islands, but they are not expected to be particularly strong. As far as the prefecture of Thessaloniki is concerned, there is a possibility of heavy rains and thunderstorms during the night of Thursday 02/10 to Friday 03/10.
