"I was expelled for my views, it is an unconstitutional decision, I will not give up my seat," said Marios Salmas, who among other things said that in his disagreement with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, he stated his opposition to the award of all canteens of archaeological sites to one bidder, especially the one with the lowest bid, while there was a bid with twice the money.

Marios Salmas, for the first time since his expulsion from New Democracy, referred to its causes, the friction with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the tenders for canteens, while revealing the dialogue he had with the Prime Minister and clarified that he will not give up his seat.
"No one knows, not even the Ethics Committee that called me to explain. That is why the duration of the discussion lasted only 48 seconds", he replied about the reasons for his deletion and describing the dialogue with Yiannis Tragakis, he said that he left with a paper with two articles that spoke of "anti-collegial and anti-parliamentary behavior", he said speaking to ANT1.
"In my case I was deleted for my ideas, my opinions," Salmas argued, stressing that, "it is an unconstitutional decision, Article 60 states that the MP has unlimited freedom of speech, expression and judgment."
"For 25 years I have not given an excuse, I have not objected to a bill. I have not now given rise to this either. Simply, after the KO meeting to see why people turned their backs on us in the European elections, I said my personal opinion, that it is irreversible, in front of the Prime Minister. We all serve the party. Anyone who has an ownership perception of the party is wrong," he said, citing a dialogue he had with his children. "Why did the Prime Minister's son announce from America that you are being expelled?" he was asked, to which he replied: "It is wrong to believe that you own the world you trust. We serve the world."
Asked about his political future, Salmas said: "Who cares what I or every politician will do? The world has its problems. My first thought is the ideas expressed by each Salmas, which will find expression if necessary. Faces come and go. For so long I had in vain the opinion that I could persuade the Prime Minister to turn the boat and see the many, the real problems of the world. Assuming that this government and the Prime Minister listen and turn the boat and solve the issues of the many, I'm going home. Because it served the purpose of my ideas," he added.
He clarified that he will not give up his seat, saying that, "the seat is a mandate of the citizens. People have said that I want to express their ideas. To have an opinion, I went through eleven elections. The decision to be out of the party and KO does not give me the right to resign my seat."
Marios Salmas attributes his deletion to the dialogue he had with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during the meeting of the New Democracy Parliamentary Group and claimed that he reveals it for the first time to George Papadakis and viewers.
"I told him: it's nice to say we're going forward, but when you go forward, you have to know which political crawl you're going with. For example, when you decide to whom to give renewable energy, you gave it to the few, not to the many.
Fine, you say, we should tax the self-employed, control super-profits. What does super profits mean? Why didn't you take structural measures in time to prevent it? Not all of them are imported. And I told him I came to politics to serve equality, equality and equal opportunities. If I finish it, the conversation that never went out will be historically recorded.
I tell him, I cannot accept a company taking all the canteens of archaeological sites at the minimum price, in a tender procedure, and Mrs Mendoni saying "I don't care about the price", I care about the canteens being good. Who gave it the opportunity to devalue the money of the Greek people? He rejected an offer at twice the price. It's nice to say we will give allowances to young couples to build houses, but you left the golden visa 5 years to be in Athens. If you had closed it and it was only in the countryside, people's houses in the periphery would have taken capital gains.
He replied: I do not accept insinuations that I serve the few, if we were with the few, we would not have gotten 41%," the independent MP said, claiming that this was the dialogue he had with Kyriakos Mitsotakis. "In his place, I would say, 'Marie, you are denouncing serious things in front of 158 MPs.
According to Mr. Salma, "the reason was that I said in a morning interview that over time 80 hospitals give their canteens, each governor describes the terms. Shouldn't this end in a Greece that has suffered? Is it difficult for a minister to sit down and set the conditions? €8 billion of contracts were awarded, 72% (of public awards) were direct awards. We can't give photo competitions for open procedures and give the rest direct awards."
