Exactly one year after the completion of the two-dimensional (2D) seismic surveys in the two areas, the three-dimensional (3D) surveys are next.

The special seismograph of the specialized geophysical research company PGS, RAMFORM HYPERION, is already sailing in a sea area southwest of Crete, which in November 2022 carried out corresponding works for the acquisition of three-dimensional geophysical data in the marine blocks of HELLENiQ ENERGY "Ionio" and "10 – Kyparissiakos".

PGS's special seismographic vessel will deploy special equipment with which it will "scan" specific geological structures of the subsoil, mainly in the block "Southwest of Crete".

The works, according to NAVTEX issued by the Navy's Hydrographic Service, are likely to last until March 31, 2024.

RAMFORM HYPERION is supported by the ships: "THOR MAGNI", "EDT NIOVI", "EDT ARGONAUT".

The completion of the three-dimensional surveys will bring the ExxonMobil – HELLENiQ ENERGY consortium closer to making the investment decision whether or not to conduct the first exploratory drilling.
