Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has again issued a warning to Iran.
Gallant said Israel would respond to Iran soon, adding that the response would be "deadly and accurate."
At the same time, the Pentagon confirmed today, Tuesday, October 15, that components of the advanced THAAD anti-missile system began to be delivered to Israel as early as Monday.
The Pentagon also announced that the system would soon be "fully operational," while U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said U.S. troops would operate the anti-missile system.
"In the coming days, additional U.S. military personnel and THAAD batteries will continue to arrive in Israel," Pentagon spokesman Major General Pat Ryder was quoted as saying by Reuters.
"The array will be fully operational in the near future, but for operational reasons we are not going to discuss specific timelines."
According to the Pentagon, a THAAD battery had already been deployed to Israel following the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks, and previously in 2019.
U.S. President Joe Biden announced Sunday that U.S. forces will deploy a THAAD battery to Israel to protect against potential threats.
